The MAIX product series from Sipeed is designed specifically to run AI at the edge. With MAIX, AI models can be moved from the cloud to devices on the edge of the network, allowing them to run faster, at lower cost, and with greater privacy. MAIX is not just a hardware solution, but a combiN/Ation of custom hardware, open software, and state-of-the-art AI algorithms.

MAIX is available in various forms such as development boards, kits, peripherals, and with wide compatibility, which eN/Ables rapid and agile prototype development and makes AIoT projects much easier. Thanks to MAIX's performance, small footprint, low power consumption, and low cost, it eN/Ables the broad deployment of high-quality Edge AI.

The MAIX hardware features a RISC-V Dual Core 64bit CPU with FPU and a 400MHz neural network processor, which makes it capable of QVGA@60FPS/VGA@30FPS image identification. It also comes with an onboard ESP32 module that supports 2.4G 802.11.b/g and Bluetooth 4.2. The MAIX board is compatible with the Arduino Uno form factor and has an Arduino compatible interface. It also features an onboard omnidirectioN/Al I2S digital output MEMS Microphone, a 24P 0.5mm FPC connector for DVP Camera, an 8bit MCU LCD 24P 0.5mm FPC connector, and a self-elastic micro SD card holder.

The MAIX board comes with a reset and boot button and a 3W DAC PA Audio output. With just the USB Type-C cable, it is easy to complete the download process. The MAIX board is designed for machine vision based on convolutioN/Al neural networks and has a high-performance microphone array processor for machine hearing. It supports MaixPy IDE, Arduino IDE, OpenMV IDE, and PlatformIO IDE and also supports Tiny-Yolo, Mobilenet, and TensorFlow Lite for deep learning.
