The LM380 is a power audio amplifier designed for consumer applications with a wide supply voltage range of 10V-22V. It has a low quiescent power drain of 0.13W (VS = 18V) to minimize system cost. The amplifier has a fixed voltage gain of 34 dB and a unique input stage that allows ground-referenced input signals. The output automatically self-centers to one-half of the supply voltage. It has a high peak current capability of 1.3A and a high input impedance of 150kΩ. The LM380N is short circuit-proof with internal thermal limiting. Its package outline is a standard dual-in-line (DIP) format with a copper lead frame, allowing for easy use in standard PC layouts.
